We may have lost a house, but it seems that we are about to gain something far more precious. Dennis's youngest daughter, Kristie and her husband Jamie are expecting their first child sometime in January 2011 - what a way to start a new decade! The entire family is excited - but none more than that first time grandfather himself. After much pondering and campfire discusson Dennis has decided that he would like to be referred to as "Gramps" - which seems preferable to "the bush tucker man" and "Crocodile Dundee".
In a year that has had its ups and downs the start of a new life is the best news we could have hoped for and somehow seems a fitting reminder of how the circle of life just keeps spinning.
An account of our ongoing adventures will follow shortly, but it seemed important to get this breaking news on the wire right away.
I will mention that Byron Bay has come up the winner in our poll as to where we should live next. I'm pleased to report that no one voted for "Outer Mongolia" - but Peter O'Connor came close when he nominated "Iceland" because he didn't know how to spell "Afghanistan". Thanks Occa!
