MOORE CHOKES ON BACK 9 AT AUGUSTA

It's Sunday at Augusta, and Dennis Moore dons his red shirt (a la Tiger).  His faithful partner drops him off at  the Augusta course where he hits off at noon with high hopes.  In keeping with his reputation, he is partnered with the course captain.  The first 9 look good....21 points.  Then it all falls apart on the back 9 and he finishes with 35 for the round.  No green jacket this weekend!

Of course, the Augusta in question is not the famed course in Georgia, but a tiny country course at the south western tip of Western Australia.  We've had 5 days here in Augusta where the Indian and the Great Southern Oceans meet.  Haven't done all that much except admire the view as we have both been recovering from colds.  But the view has been great!  Oh yes, and we also managed to slip in a winery lunch at Voyager Estate which was to die for.

The other big news is that we've gone solar!!  Two days ago we received our brand new solar panels.  Up until now we haven't been able to go for more than 4 or 5 days without heading for a caravan park to "plug in" and recharge the camper batteries.  The combination of our new solar panels and the seeming never ending sun should mean that we can stay in the bush until our drinking water runs out.  Given that we're carrying 150L of water, that should be a long time.

So we are celebrating our new found freedom by leaving the "big city" tomorrow and heading into the national parks that line the southcoast of Western Australia.  Our colds have been cured and we're ready to take on some fishing, bushwalking and making love in the bush (I put that one in there for you Rod).

  2. I finally figured how to do the comment and then put it on the wrong edition. Exciting about the solar panels but please don't get lost in the bush or lose the electronic touch.
